Beans & Bunches
This was an awesome project to work on. Stacey from Beans & Bunches had so many gorgeous images to play with, from wedding florals, to flower bunches as well as photos of her shop’s beautiful mascot, Charlie the Border Collie. She had an existing website which was very old. It did the job for many years, but was not built with modern useability in mind, wasn’t mobile responsive.
My aim in rebuilding this site was to make it user friendly. Break information down into readable sections. Make navigation easier and logical. Have a mobile site which stacks and flows as it should.
Aesthetically, we needed to lighten the site. The original was very black. The lighter, neutral colour scheme we went with really sets off Stacey’s beautiful floral designs.
Stacey mentioned that on her old site, brides were using the side bar contact form alot to get in touch with her. I wasn’t keen to keep the site bar – they take up valuable real-estate on page and are not good on mobile. But we needed to make sure that we didn’t lose the utility it was performing since people were using it. To compensate, I added a contact icon which stays on the page. On click is the popup form.
Stacey also needed the added functionality of an events booking system for her workshops. We went with one that integrates with the payment gateway and checkout from the existing shop making it user friendly as well as looking great.
Stacey’s personality and approach to her business guided the design of this site and gave it a lovely look and feel. I just love the images of her doggo Charlie dotted throughout. If you love dogs, flowers and plants go and visit Stacey at Beans & Bunches!
