What to expect?
1. Getting to know you & Planning
Most of the websites I build start with a chat over coffee - either in person or over the phone. I will guide you through the web design process, introduce you to WordPress and talk over website hosting and domain name options.
Most importantly this is a time to get to know your business. Understanding your goals, audience, and the way you work helps shape the direction of your website from the start.
By the time we finish our meeting we will know:
- What function you need from your website
- Have a sitemap of pages needed
- Have mapped out the structure and direction of your website
2. Content & Homepage Foundations
Next, I will send you a short onboarding form. This will help me gather the information needed to begin your project.
Rather than asking you to write an entire website upfront, the form focuses on the key content needed to build your homepage first. Starting with the homepage helps establish the tone, messaging, and structure of your site before we expand into the remaining pages.
From there, the rest of the website grows naturally.
As your project progresses, you may also need to provide:
- written content for your internal pages
- images and photography
- branding elements and logos
- service information
- downloadable documents or resources
If you need support with any of this, I can connect you with trusted copywriters, graphic designers, and photographers to help bring your website together.
I even have a popular Website and Logo package developed with Gill from Inspo Graphics and Design.
3. Design & Build
Once the content and structure are in place, I begin designing and building your website.
This stage is collaborative. Rather than building everything in isolation, I share work with you as it develops so we can make sure the design, layout, and direction feel right from the start.
This avoids unnecessary rework and ensures the website evolves in the right direction as we go.
Your site is designed around your brand and user experience, including layout, typography, colour palette, imagery, and interactive elements. Everything is also tested across desktop, tablet, and mobile to ensure it functions smoothly on all devices.
4. Refinement & Final Adjustments
When the full site has been built we focus on refining the details.
This includes final adjustments to layout, content, and styling to ensure everything feels consistent, polished, and ready for launch.
Links, forms, and technical elements are checked to maintain quality, usability and performance.
The goal is to make sure you are completely confident in your website before it goes live.
5. Launch & Support
Once your website is launched, you will be given video tutorials on how to update your site, including how to edit and add new content.
If you prefer, I offer a complete after sales service with ongoing support and maintenance. How hands on you are after launch is completely up to you!
Either way, you will be given the login details to your site so you have full access. If you opt for hosting through Evolve Digital Solutions, you will be given access to the control panel for full transparency and ownership of your site.
Your website is built so you stay in control, whether you want to manage it yourself or have me take care of it for you.
